A skylight directly over the bed, blackout blinds you control from under the covers, and a red reading lamp so your eyes stay dark-adapted.

The lodge
Nobody should drive home at four in the morning.
Eight rooms at the top of the track, five minutes from the observing field. Red lighting throughout, blackout blinds everywhere, and a kitchen that is open whenever you come in.
Where it is
At the top of the track, facing south.
The lodge sits on the north side of the ridge, which puts the building between the road and the observing field — so headlights coming up the hill never reach anyone's dark adaptation.
There is no wifi in the rooms. There is very good coffee at any hour, and a drying room for the coats that get wet on the way up.

Ridge Cabins
Two of them, forty metres apart, both facing south. Wood stove, kettle, no wifi, and a deck big enough for a tripod and two chairs.

The Bunk Room
For groups and clubs. Six bunks, a drying room for wet coats, and a long table that has hosted a great many arguments about eyepieces.
